Bit of a sad day as we pack up a room ready to leave the boat. It sure has been a fantastic time with a great bunch of people. Would thoroughly recommend the cruise with Sail Croatia to others.
Emails and addresses swapped with our new friends made in Australia and England we head to the old town where we are staying for another night. We have a few stairs to climb to our apartment!
We are greeted by a lovely little old lady, Maria, the mother of the owner. She gives big hugs and kisses and makes us feel at home, chatting away in Croatian! We just nod and smile at her. She is gorgeous!
Sam has the washing all sorted and hung out in our private little garden before we take a trip to Lokrum Island - a National Park a 10 minute ferry ride from Dubrovnik.
The fish in a feeding frenzy in the harbour, from the ferry waiting to leave to Lokrum.
The ramparts of the old town - view from boat.
Lokrum Island is a nature and forest reserve. There are lots of walking tracks on the Island as well as a few peacocks.
We stayed for a couple of hours and relaxed and swam in the last of our Adriatic sun and sea.
No sand so we had to find the flattest rock we could. Funny thought we like old tuataras warming our blood up,on the rocks! Entry into the sea by ladders going straight off rocks!
Once back on the mainland get ready to meet up with a few couples we have met on our cruise for a final dinner together. these are city guards dressed in all their finery.
Our lovely waitress and restaurant owner Clara. An absolute gem! She had us in fits of laughter all night. Sam made her happy as he ordered her special cake for dessert and they were best friends from then on!
More great food and excellent wine with a great bunch of new friends. A fantastic night to end our Croatian leg of our trip.
