The Tower and St Pauls

Saturday 17th May
Back on the Hop on Hop off Bus - such great value and saves the feet a bit!
Visit to the Tower of London. What an interesting place! Great stories told by the  Yeomans. Real characters. Magnificent views of the Tower Bridge from the inside the Tower. Another history lesson.

Next stop the Borough Markets. A massive version of our Farmers Market. You can buy anything you want here. Sam settled for a traditional Cornish Pastie.

Back to walking - down Fleet Street past the Fires of London Monument in Pudding Lane towards St Paul's. Being a huge Diana fan just had to go inside.

Wow! Incredible. Beautiful ornate painted ceilings. Sat in the pews and imagined being at the Royal wedding. We then made our way up the 450 or so steps right to the top to look out over the city of London. What an incredible piece of architecture. Well worth it! . Felt a bit dizzy on the way down going around and around but made it. Definitely a highlight!

This is where we were - you can see people at the railing.

FA Cup fever on here today - pubs chocka with fans watching the game. Needed a drink after walking all the stairs.
Caught another show Wicked this time and it really was wicked! Incredible staging and special effects.
Another day over.
